Machine icons - by Graham Allsopp (with acknowledgement to Apple Computer). December 1992
OK, I admit it. I was poking around my System and found some of these icons, and thought they might look nice as DeskTop file icons.
They (should) contain a full set of icons for all Macs, and some peripheral hardware. You may have to use your imagination a bit - eg the IIvm will also suffice for the Performa 600 - only you will know the difference!
Some have been drawn from scratch, and some amended from System 7.0.1. A full set of ICN#, icl4, icl8, ics#, ics4 and ics8 resoures are provided.
If anyone knows if System 7.1 includes icons for the IIvm & Duo's, I would be grateful for a copy of them - the icons only!! - NOT the whole system - Apple doesn't like that sort of thing any more.
Cut & Paste these icons as normal - if you don't understand, read on.
To use these files, simply highlight the icon, select "Get Info" from the Finder "File" menu (Command-I), click on the icon in the top left-hand corner of the information box, and "Copy" (command-C). Repeat the process for the file you want to receive the icon and "Paste" (Command-V) rather than Copy.
How much do they cost ? - They don't - they are free, but see the note below:
The Return of the Infamous PostcardWare !
These icons are free, but if you enjoyed them, please send me a postcard of your home town and let me know.
If you hate writing postcards, suitably large sums of money or PowerBook Duos will suffice.
Seriously, any monies donated (any currency) will be converted into Sterling and donated to the Sheffield Cat's Shelter - the oldest animal charity in the world. The stray cats of South Yorkshire will thank you greatly!
